Make me a rap about…

Tap one and the words drop into the box at the top of the page. Change the names to the real ones — two or three details only you would know are what turn a generic track into one people replay.

None of these is a fixed template — each one is a sentence you can rewrite. You can also say how it should start, hand it words to work in, or paste lyrics you have already written and let it build the song around them.

What it can make

No add-ons and nothing held back behind a higher tier except sound quality, track length and the commercial licence.

  • Stylesboom bap, trap, drill, uk drill, west coast, old school, lo-fi, phonk, melodic, jersey club — ten in all
  • VoicesMale, female, or the two trading verses
  • WordsDescribe the song in a sentence and it writes them, or paste lyrics you already have
  • LengthUp to four minutes free, up to eight on the better models
  • Every runTwo finished takes, so you can pick one
  • LanguagesNine to choose from, and any language at all if you paste your own lyrics
  • InstrumentalsTick “no singing, just the beat” for a backing track with no vocals
  • DownloadsMP3, no watermark — 3 credits per song, charged once
  • Commercial useCovered on paid credits; free-tier songs are for personal use

One credit is one song request, and every request comes back with two finished tracks. Better and Best sound quality cost more per request than Quick, which is the one the free plan uses. The pricing page lists what each one costs.

Three steps

How it works

From an empty box to two finished songs, with nothing to install and no microphone.

  1. 01

    SAY WHAT YOU WANT

One line about the vibe, or paste lyrics you already wrote. Both work.

  2. 02

    PICK THE SOUND

Boom bap, trap, drill, whatever. Set the voice and the tempo if you care.

  3. 03

    GET TWO TRACKS

Around a minute later you have two full songs with vocals. Keep the better one.

Writing rap with AI

WHAT AN AI RAP GENERATOR ACTUALLY DOES

RapGen’s AI rap generator makes finished tracks with rap vocals and a beat from an idea or your own lyrics. Use it as a rap music generator when you want to hear the whole song, or choose “no singing, just the beat” for an instrumental you can rap over yourself.

That matters most at the start of an idea. You hum something in the car, you have a hook in your notes app, you want to hear whether a concept survives contact with an actual beat. Waiting on a producer to send something back kills that momentum. Getting two finished takes a minute later does not.

PICKING A STYLE THAT FITS THE WORDS

The sub-genre you choose changes how the words land. Boom bap sits around 85 to 95 BPM with hard swung drums and a dusty sample loop — it gives dense, story-heavy writing room to breathe. Trap runs faster underneath but leaves more space in the bar, which is why hooks repeat and ad-libs carry the energy.

Drill puts a sliding 808 under everything at roughly 140 BPM, so short punched phrases beat long sentences. Lo-fi pulls the drums back and the melody forward for anything reflective. West coast leans on a bright synth lead and a rolling groove. If you are unsure, write the words first and try two beats behind them — the mismatch is obvious the moment you hear it.

WRITING BARS WORTH KEEPING

The rap lyrics generator is deliberately separate from the song generator, because writing and recording are different jobs. Start there when you have a theme but no words: it returns structured verses with hook and bridge markers already in place, which you can edit before anything gets sung.

Structure tags are the part most people skip. Marking your text with sections tells the model where the energy should rise and where the hook repeats — the same instinct a songwriter uses on paper. Songs written with tags come back tighter than the same words pasted in as one block.

THE VOICE DOING THE RAPPING

A studio microphone with sound rings radiating out from it

The vocal is the part people judge first, and it is the part nobody expects to get for free. You pick male, female, or both trading verses, and the delivery follows the style you chose — a drill vocal sits back behind the beat and clips its consonants, a boom bap vocal pushes forward and rides the snare. You do not need a microphone, a booth, or the confidence to rap in front of anyone.

What an AI rapper voice is good at is carrying words with the right cadence and energy. What it is not is an impression of a named artist, and we do not offer that — cloning a real performer is their voice and their livelihood, and a track built that way is one you cannot release anyway. Write in your own style and the voice serves the writing, which is the version worth keeping.

WHEN YOU ONLY WANT THE BEAT

A drum machine seen from above, one pad lit red

Tick "no singing, just the beat" and the same request comes back as an instrumental — the drums, the bass, the loop, and nothing on top. That is the version to reach for when you intend to rap over it yourself, when you need something under a video or a stream, or when you want to hear whether a tempo works before committing words to it.

Beats and words are made for each other here rather than bolted together, which is why the instrumental usually sits better under your own vocal than a stock loop does: it was written for the mood and the tempo you asked for. If a beat comes back close but not right, change one thing — the sub-genre, or the tempo — and run it again. Two takes arrive each time, so a small change gives you four versions to compare rather than one.
